Grumpy Trinity

First of all, I would just like to say that anyone who finds their bathroom scale to be their biggest enemy has more issues than I care to dwell on.

Second of all, I would like to proclaim the school paper the title of the worst piece of editorialised garbage ever. Thank you Miss Popular Rich Chick for simply assuming that all us "losers" want to be just like you and have no friends and go through life terrified of you people. Got a pretty high opinion of yourself don't you Miss Zisko? You completely missed the point. And what's more, how disgusting to add in the reply to the letter that the important part of the whole subject was that you had actually encountered this- well, why didn't you mention that in the article the first time you wrote it? Oh, because that might be a FACT, and our paper can't have any FACTS in it. So sorry none of you could be bothered because it made you feel all sugary and good about yourselves and your natural lovingness to all man kind as long as they're not right there with you puking and having diseases and not being heterosexual and all.

As a sidebar, I feel I have the right to complain because I was in the journalism class with most of the staff that are there now. They all sit there and write up trollop the day before things are due and then Swegle stupifys it beyond recognition. I know how things work down there, and it sickens me. I get upset because it shouldn't happen like that.

Now, I admit, not everything is this way. Tricia Murphy writes a good article now and again. It's not news persay, but as far as good writing, Tricia has the ability to transform your feelings through her work. Very calming or stressing or important, as the issue goes- a good talent. And Cameron could write a good article if she would let him write about something other than cars. Is there really that much out there that high school students give a damn about each month? And please, if nothing else, could we at least see some truth in facts when we read them as opposed to paraphrases of other's opinions and things that the writers simply guessed to be true?

That whole newspaper thing pisses me off. It's just unecessary.

Thirdly, IHSSA One Act auditions were today. Call backs posted tomorrow. It's funny how many people do an audition by getting up and flipping on their "acting" button. There's a Kenneth Branaugh quote to his actors while directing Hamlet that goes: "Now I don't want any acting, which is a lot of this (strikes a pose, looks into the middle distance, hand on chest, eyes glazed) because when you do that, your arse gets a bit tighter and you start talking like someone from Playland." But, that's what a lot of them do, they flip their "acting" switch on, go up and do the silly voice and wave their hands around and believe that they look normal. Well, when the person isn't normal, it might be OK (for example, Dolly Gallagher Levi can get by with it- marginally, a lot of other characters can't), but rarely. Watch a lot of bad Shakespeare, you'll know what I mean. Listen to eight and ninth graders stumble through poetry, you'll know what I mean. It all sounds trite. Now, maybe there are people who like that, but I don't think (from what little I know) that Phoebe is a fan. Well, guess we'll find out tomorrow.
