02/01/2003 - 2:01 a.m. Nothing has changed it's still the same. There has been general diary tidying up in honour of the new year. The archives have been updated and so has the quiz, as can be seen below. I watched Waiting for Godot on television this evening. I hadn't seen it before, and now I see I need to read it. In this house it is impossible to watch anything that requires concentration. Two hours is simply too long to ask for a little undisturbed quiet. It's Beckett, not an action film that reminds you of the plot every ten seconds. We had a mouse living in the dining room until my mother began a vigorous cleaning today. The mouse took this as an insult and moved out and into the computer room where he must have known my mother would never clean. I have no troubles with mice, verminous and vile they may be to some people, but they don't bother me. I've named him Mantivarni. I don't know that he looks like an Italian mouse, but he certainly has the sort of upper class elegance and poise that any one bearing the name Mantivarni ought to have. I say, if my brother can adopt every stray cat in the neighborhood, there should be no objection to my naming and befriending a mouse while I'm home. My hope is simply that our interests do not conflict. From the Shire, down the Anduin, to Mordor
